Plants for pollinators
Hummingbirds, in more recent times, have become a symbol for climate activists. They are perhaps one of the most beautiful birds in our part of the world. They are great pollinators and add a touch of flair to any garden.
There are several flowers that attract hummingbirds and even butterflies and bees. Some flowers are more enticing to these tiny darts.
They are attracted to bright hues such as reds, oranges and yellows. Try choosing these colours with special long or tapered shaped flowers that can accommodate the long beaks of these little jewels.
At Simply Beautiful we carry at least a dozen plants that these creatures love to suckle.
In stock at this time are: Lantanas, Antigua Heat, Impatiens, Petunias and Smithianthus.
Plants that are loved by hummingbirds are also loved by the bees and other pollinators so they are great additions to any green space!
