Fertilize

In order to optimize growth, plants require three core or integral nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and micro amounts of calcium, magnesium and sulphur.

Nitrogen aids in chlorophyll production through photosynthesis, which supports leaf growth, seed and fruit development. Phosphorus is responsible for energy transfer, for root development and flowering while potassium regulates plant metabolism for fruiting, seeding and overall growth.

Application of fertilizers or nutrients using water is called fertigation and is a very common practice. Increasingly, farmers of all scales and hobbyists are employing organic methods and other climate smart practices.

Pollution, adverse weather patterns, improper crop rotation, poor drainage, poor use of insecticides and pesticides all contribute to poor soil quality. To ensure good quality soil we recommend the use of 20-20-20 NPK salt and/or Miracle Gro (brand) at the recommended dosage rates and application frequencies. So as not to kill your ‘baby’.
