Pillar Filler and Spiller

Many years ago when Cable TV was anew, I would avidly watch HGTV. Hours turned into days and months turned to years. I am a still a HUGE fan today!

 

Whilst watching an episode on landscaping, I came across the easiest way to create a Focal or Accent point. Whether you live in a condo, apartment or have the luxury of a beautiful garden at your leisure, this landscaping idea adds a “touch of class” to your surroundings.

 

The Pillar, Filler and Spiller concept in layman terms is simply using one tall plant as your pillar. I love to use palms as they are so prolific. The fillers are the short plants that fill the surface area of the pot and the spiller are the groundcovers that hang over the pot like a ribbon.
